Brave and fearless like a Clan Chief - indeed, we are in medieval Scotland - roaming the glens, the deep valleys of his homeland, looking southwards to the horizon, to the other side of the Wall where invaders have always come from. An eminent spirit like that of a founder of a warrior order, the head of a noble family, the forefather of a dynasty. You are allowed to drink this Bowmore only after 28 years of aging in the prison of sherry wood which return it in a statuesque and monumental state: it unites the glory of the highlands to the ancient touch of the Moors of Andalusia, from that Spain which was another world albeit a part of our continent.

This whisky draws a furrow between itself and other spirits so deep to become a doctrinal paradigm which consumers will have to acquire for the next decades.

The bouquet opens mossy and earthy, the choir of sensations immediately rises after the voice of tenderness, with vanilla and a complex fruity echo opening up slowly in the mouth. Then myrtle and juniper berries explode as a winey pollen sweetness melts the initial more austere traits. The sweet notes round off and soften its form, the smokey ones support the overall structure. A lucky dance of smoke and cream. This is heather whipped by a salty wind. A fire extinguished under a linden tree in May, keeping our highlander company.
