Wonder…when we were children, all was spectacular. Everything was always amazement and admiration. A deep and indescribable sensation which we felt as we stood before a world to discover, and that as adults we can re-discover only in the highest moments of life and of course history. The wonderment which would have impressed a Crusader reaching Venice from the French countryside. Here he would discover that his destiny would bring him to Byzantium - Constantinople.

We too are now experiencing wonder. In sampling, then pausing, then tasting once again, only to wait some more.

Our eyes widen at every step, every time is beautifully unforgettable thanks to that hint, that tone which is so rare yet so perfectly expressed. A whisky note. The note of whisky. We are children once again. The simplest thing would be to say: it tastes of that thing called whisky. Truly this is an increasingly rare experience today, redolent of the 90s, more or less.

And the conclusion is that Springbank casks are truly unique, and they only resemble themselves.

The nose is a milestone bouquet, the monument elevated to celebrate the Campbeltown Peninsula, the natural bridge between Scotland and her islands. Dried fruits and autumnal innuendos dance with lavender and with newly blossomed spring bushes. Saline to the mouth, slightly sulfurous and delicately fruity with that finish smacking of barley. Truly a wonder.
